Melanie's Web 2.0 Course

I attended the session “A Peek for a Week – Inside a Kiwi Junior Classroom.” First of all, let me say WOW!!!  It was definitely a worthwhile experience. I got some new ideas on how to maximize the use of the three classroom computers I have in my room.   I always wonder how much I can really do with only three computers in my classroom – nevermind the fact that my students are only seven years old…   I learned that I can be doing much more.   I just have to come up with a plan that will work for me and take the time to train my students at the beginning of the year.

I love the idea of letting children use the computers to do their writing once a week.   I also like the idea of linking to other class blogs and letting some students do some of their silent reading online.   The part of the session that showed the six year old students teaching teachers how to use the video software was priceless!
